Does anyone know where I can get plain finch/canary seed around gulf shores Al?
I like to use plain seeds not fortified with anything special. I will be in gulf shores next month and I want to see if anyone knows where I can get a larger quantity of seed somewhere local.
Any info would be awesome...

If you can't find it locally, Drs.FosterSmith.com sells plain canary, white prozo millet, red millet seed. Their shipping is reasonable. Phone #800-443-1160. Also, Petco sells Healthy Select finch seed contains some herbs, no colored seeds.

I did a search and there are several feed stores and a Tractor Supply close by. Do a search and give these places a call.
I can't vouch for any of the local feed stores but when I have bought various bags of feed for various critters in the past from my own local Tractor Supply the feed was always fresh and reasonably priced.
You can save a ton of cash buying fifty pound sacks of feed. I have a chest freezer and freeze excess feeds to prevent the infestation by insects that happens when one stores grain or grain products for a long time.

I get my canary grass seed from a local pet shop - a locally owned pet shop, not one of the mega-stores like Petco.
Check out the smaller locally owned stores. The one near me sells out of bulk bins so I can get as much or as little as I want. The price is quite reasonable.

Turn towards home, and go there. Many overs, over woods and fields, streams and hills, many overs. Just turn towards home. How else would one go there? Perhaps it was a dream, and you have awakened from it. May the earth rise up beneath you, with home in your heart, and your person waiting.

I buy my finch and canary seeds through Herman Brothers online. They have a ton of choices at a good price if you buy in bulk.

If oil prices and gas costs continue to drop, might be worth a road trip.
Somehow it seems as if companies raise their prices in response to escalating costs, but never seem to drop their prices when their costs go down. So UPS and them will likely continue to cost the same, but if gas is cheap I can see pulling a trailer and bringing a ton home and splitting it up.
