An Expensive Treat For the Kids

Hi All

I had an appointment today, (other side of town) after which I stepped into a Pet Land, just across the street (how can one resist a Pet Shop?)

I went to check out their birds (how can anyone resist checking out birds ?  ) They had quite a variety: Zebras, Societies ($39.99, are they kidding me?), Gouldians, Shaft Tail, Canaries, pretty Blue Capped Cordons :-) ($188.00 each YIKES!!! :-(), Budgies, Lovebirds, Rosy Bourks, Sun Conures, Redbottomed Parakeets, and a magnificent blue and gold Macaw (who kept winking at me ;-).

Everyone too expensive for my blood (even if those CB's were to die for).

So I wandered around the store, picking up this and that. Found some very interesting bird food (that I thought the kids would enjoy) a little expensive at $13.99, but hey, a one time thing. Went to the check out, paid, and headed home.

It was only later, after I got home, that I realized that it was $23.99, not $13.99.....
All I can say, is that I sure hope they enjoy and appreciate it for that price.

Here it is:

Quiko Sun Seed (14 oz)
GOLDY Eggfood for Insectivores
For Softbills & Finches

Egg Biscuit
Honey
Raisins
Peanuts
Mountain Ash Berries
Elder Berries
Dehydrated Ant Eggs

Crude fat 19.0 %

You might have it bad if...you spend crazy money on Bird food. I bought a $13 bag of "super dry egg food". Oh well what's a Bird lover to do? I am so :-J   for your pet stores!

LOL....
I think Sebell and Spirit, are on the same page. They are taking their time, getting to know one another.

As in regards to this food, I'll be handing it out with a teeny tiny teaspoon, as a treat for super good behavior O:-)

That's what I thought it was ($13.99) and even that was expensive.

All I can say is...I wish there was a store like that where I live. (it would be my husband's worst nightmare  )

I actually feed my insectivores that exact food. I mix it with their homemade egg food, and they love it!

LOL!

From the smell of this suff, I wouldn't eat it, yummy or not... (phueey! Smells like dead bugs :-))

Stacie, are there no Pet Lands in Texas?
Personally, I rarely shop at Pet Land or Pet Smart, but there it was, so I had to take a quick look inside.

What's the price tag on this food, down at your neck of the woods? I love to comparre prices :-).

Yes, it smells awful! The closest Petland to me is probably two hours away, but I love taking road trips  I've just never been there before.

I bought my last Quicko Goldy Eggfood last week on Amazon, and with Amazon prime, it was $14.27.
