Could the parents stop feeding a 17 day old?

I think one of my society babies has a broken foot (he's just sitting at the bottom of the cage with a foot twisted inward at the ankle). I haven't seen the parents feed him but I could just be missing it....should I automatically assume feeding responsibilities or will the society's take care of their baby?

Leave the parents to it ...It's extremely rare for societies to ignore their babies.

Ditto what Poohbear said - Soc's should resume feeding the baby.

I have an adult Society hen with a foot like that - all toes go one way at the ankle. She was that way when I got her and she's fine. She's also a mother to 4 beautiful babies.

I make sure the (STOOPID) floor grates are always covered with newspaper since I cannot remove them.

Thank you , thank you. That just took a huge load off my shoulders. I lined the floor with newspaper (why I didn't think of it before I don't know, duh!)

Thank you so much, I'll keep an eye on the babies. :D
