what brand of finch food to buy
I'm just wondering what is the best finch food from a pet store that I should be buying? Does anyone have a preferred brand that is best? Also does cuttlebone bones and oyster shell have an expiration date? Reason I ask is because I would like to buy both items in bulk. Do they need mineral block in their diet?

My pick is healthy select if your shopping at pet co not sure if petsmart has it.I buy that and Higgins at bird supply in NH and mix the two and keep in freezer bags taking out a little at a time as needed. Not sure what types of stores you are shopping at in Canada, there are members that might help you there

You may have access to the seed I use, since it is made by Hagen, which is based in Canada. I use their Finch Staple VME seed mix. My birds all seem to like it, and they do well. Hagen also makes a premium mix, but that one has the little colored bits in it, and I don't care for that.

You can keep cuttle bone and oyster shell for ages, it does not go bad.

I'll try them on hagen, I've seen that kind at petsmart.
