Not sure what this is, but my birds are fighting over it
I had a flock of nutmeg mannikins in the back yard yesterday eating seeds from a grassy weed that never got pulled. I cut off some of the stems and offered them to my birds, who are fighting over them! This weed grows all over my back yard just like, well, a weed! I've never let one get so big that it goes to seed. I'm going to transplant them and also plant some of these seeds and see if I can't get a bed of them growing. I've never seen them enjoy a food so much.

Looks a bit like normal common Rye grass,
Most if not all Mannikins and Munias will thrive on this
