I make trays for all the flights and smaller portions for the birdlings who are in smaller accomodations.
That particular tray, was for my Gouldian and Canary flight, and let me tell you, it sure doesn't take them long to demolish the contents.
By tomorrow morning, there will probably be a few wilted scraps which will go into the trash bag.

lovezebs, HAHA! All you had to say was "canary" and I know what will be left of that tray in a few hours. I learned that I can't use a styrofoam tray for treats in the canary aviary. They eat it too!

Had the same experience some years ago.
I'd thought I was so smart with the styro plates. Cheap, no need to wash, right?
Yea, right!
Only I forgot to tell the birds, that these pretty white disks, were not part of the menu.
I was worried for days that they would drop dead, and poked through their poops to see any bits of the plates, but never found any remnants, and the silly birds were fine.
Never used them again.

That's pretty much what the birdlings chirped when I came in the room, balancing all the trays.

lovezebs I've never tried fruit so much with my finches, but I see that you have lots of fruit in this salad. Do they eat all of it? I tried cutting red grapes in half one time, and they were completely ignored.

Yes, I do offer fruit , and they eat what they wish.
The orange slices, are relished by all. The other fruits, are greatly loved by the Canaries, Javas, Parrot Finch, and Star, with the rest of the crew following their lead. They watch the others munching away, and it's a monkey see, monkey do reaction, just like kids.
I think they figure, if these other kids are eating it, we may as well give it a try, lol. That's why I like to offer variety, because everyone has their likes and dislikes.
