Broccoli sprouts

Post by lem2bert » Sat Feb 04, 2017 8:38 pm

I was at the market today shopping for veggies and fruits for me and the babies. All my babies love fresh veggies including my dog !! I happened to see some broccoli sprouts and was wondering if anyone has given these to their birds. I have tried organic pea shoots and alfalfa sprouts and they seem to enjoy those , so was wondering if anyone has tried feeding broccoli sprouts.

Barbara

I do not think they were broccoli tops. I saw them at Hannafords , they were in a little container like the alfalfa sprouts and pea shoots. Though I could be wrong. I did not buy them but I may go back and pick some up Monday.

Barbara lem2bert

Glad the chickies enjoyed the broc. sprouts.

The idea of sprouting seeds for the birds, is to offer them to the birds just as the seed shell opens and the sprout just pops out. That's when they're supposed to be at their most nutritious.

lovezebs I know that but they do enjoy these sprouts they grab one and eat the top then the stem when I have sprouted seed so much they don't eat and is wasted there is none left when all my little monsters gobble it up.I'll try to get a picture in the morning
