Ours at work go after the veggie mix we make very happily.
We throw some baby carrots and apples in a food processor til they are fairly bite size, mix with some banana and grapes and sometimes a bit of romaine lettuce. They look forward to it.
Remember to take fresh foods like this out after a few hours though, so they don't spoil.

Mine LOVED chickweed. I lived in a rather rundown apartment complex where the chickweek flourished. I picked some every day, and they devoured it!

Steven you may be able to get some termites for them, some birds prefer termites to mealworm. I know of a few breeders in queensland that use termites over mealworm. something to do with them being a moire readily available food source in the wild

Mine love chickweed also. But I only have that in the cooler weather so I am looking forward to it growing around my garden this winter.
My society finches are usually the first ones to try whatever I put out. I haven't found anything they don't like.
Corn on the cob is their favorite. Fresh, not frozen. They LOVE it and will pick it clean. I put the whole piece out for mine. But if you only have a few you can break it in half.
