So i have allot of dandelions on the side of my house. Most people would want to get rid of them, but I noticed that all of the wild finches and chickadees really enjoy them. I'm wondering if it would be safe to feed these to my zebra and Society finches is this a normal addition to their diet or should I just stick to the greens?

I've fed canaries Dandelion flowers. They especially like them once the flowers have become grey seedheads. When I weed dandelions out of a flower bed, I dump the whole mess into the aviary and the birds dig through that for a day or two.

My canary used to go to TOWN on the yellow flowers and the green leaves, sans pesticide!

Yes, you can feed dandelion to your birds.
They will enjoy the whole plant, flowers, leaves, seed heads, roots, and all.

Just make sure that these plants have not been sprayed at any time, and wash them before offering to the birds.

You can also offer chickweed, and shepherds purse....
