Miner -A- Grit question

I picked this up for my Gouldians should I also give them , the other type of grit? It is Higgins snack attack

Grit is not needed for finches...birds that swallow seed whole and grind it in their gizzards do...as in pigeons.
Finches need a calcium supply such as grated cuttlefish bone,oystershell,and a small amount of charcoal.
Compacted grit has been responsible for the deaths of finches and is not necessary...in all the years I have kept finches I have rarely supplied grit.
Pet shops and grit suppliers may not agree.

Forgot to mention...save all your chicken eggshells,microwave on high couple of minutes and crush, the birds love 'em.
