I have a fledged baby gouldian ho has been out of the nest for 6 days. This morning i found it on the floor of the cage. I've been giving it sugar water mixed in eggfood and it seems a little better. What else should I be giving it? Where does one get dehusked seeds if that is necessary? Any help is appreciated to save this little guy.

It is no longer in the nest. Its siblings are also completely out of the nest. I have mashed up some of my pellet food and fed that through a syringe, but he is not too crazy about anything I have tried. I also have him under a heat lamp (ceramic). He's not looking too good.

Can the fledgling fly properly yet? If not, it might have just fluttered down and can't get back up. If the parents are feeding the rest of the babies and ignoring this one, it has been abandoned. Try looking for baby bird food formula in pet stores. To make it more appealing to the baby, if it is not really enthusiastic eating the formula, try adding some human baby food sold in jars.
