Hey Gang,
So my partner & I go for walks through the local reserve & pick seed grasses for our finches to eat. We are aware of what grasses are good & bad however we stumbled upon a large bush of this seed grass & weren't sure if it was okay for finches to eat. If anybody knows what t his is & any info on it that would be fantastic.
Thank you

Not sure what it is called but I have very similar grasses growing like crazy in my yard right now (we got an unusual amount of rain this past winter). My birds love the semi-ripe seeds. As long as they haven't been sprayed with an insecticide/pesticide, all grasses should be safe for our birds. Sorry I couldn't help you identify it.

You probably shouldn't be picking things from a nature or reserve area. 'Undisturbed' is the most important feature of these areas.
Grasses that go to seed quickly are easy to grow in your garden or community garden. Or even in pots on a porch or balcony.
