Can Star finches get their water fine from a "Water Buddy" type of waterer? I have read that they drink water by "sucking"and wanted to make sure that they can use this type of water system fine because of that.

All finches will drink from what they are used to. If they have never experienced a Water Buddy - it may take them a while to learn... if they learn. If you want them to learn the Water Buddy, you still need to have the other (previous) water method available to them.

Thank you for your reply. I have other finches using the water buddy and will be introducing a new star in with them in a couple of weeks. I will have a dish with water available until the new star catches on to it.

That makes sense to me and having other finches already drinking will hopefully teach the Stars even quicker to use the WB.
