What is the best vitamin?

Post by twhyde » Sat Dec 13, 2008 3:08 pm

I have Gouldians and give them just about everything you can imagine that everyone here has suggested. So, they are probably getting most everything they need. My first pair have raised 4 babies and are doing great. Is there a vitamin that will not overload their system if they are getting what they need from their diet? I would just like to make sure they are getting everything they need but do not want to over do it.

A good diet is enough with a sprinkling of multi vitamins once a month...Don't fall into the trap of overdosing. There's no need if they have a proper diet and an addition of iodine supplement now and again.

Thanks for the reply - what multi vitamin do you use or suggest?

I have Breeders Blend and I have Feather Fast. How should I use them? These are my first Gouldians. Or should I use something else.

You can't go wrong with Morning Bird Products. They have given us the best results over the years which is why we carry them in our store. Which you should use depends on what the birds are doing right now. To initiate breeding go with breeders blend. For raising chicks or moulting switch over to feather fast. The way give ours to our birds in our egg food recipe. They can also be added to seed or water.

Like poohbear suggests you will want to add iodine to their diet as well.

Here is the link to the egg food recipe we use.
