Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone uses wheat germ? I notice the use of wheat germ oil mixed with eggfood but I have a jar of wheat germ and have added a bit to my eggfood recently. I just wondered why I always hear about the oil only.
Thanks,
Renee

I have put the raw into egg food ,they eat it but I can't say I use it all the time but occasionally but I do think it would be good for them

It's listed in another post in here somewhere just a few days ago about using Wheat Germ Oil and Cod Liver Oil mixed into the soak seed twice a week - which I've just started doing a couple of days ago. The finches seem to really like it.

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, at first when I read a few recipes for eggfood I saw wheat germ mentioned and I had some so added it a few times to my eggfood. Then I realized they were talking about wheat germ oil, not the dry in the jar. After reading the ingredients I didn't see the harm either. It's almost like bread crumbs and just something good to add to keep the eggfood from being too moist. I've read some people use bread crumbs for that purpose as well. Anyway, I just add a pinch and birds seem to like it.
