Feeding oats?

I read somewhere that someone was feeding oats to their finches. Or was that some kind or grain? Was the oats coming from the box of Quaker Oats I will be eating in about 15 minutes when it's done boiling?

the only oats my finches eat ( and it doesnt happen often) are hulled oats. even hulled the seed seems to be to big for them

the only finch of mine that likes hulled oats is diamond firetail.
