I will have to wait a long while to go get some chickweed...we still have that white cold stuff....you might remember....it's called SNOW!

As soon as the bird house is done I want to turn a portion of my back yard over to gardening for the birds with lots of herbs too.

Mine Gouldian finally started eating chickweed yesterday. Here we can buy it in certain pet stores with the organic dirt, and the seed in a seperate packet. It's made by Gourmet pet Supply in the U.S. they call it Beak Appetit. The also have mixtures of veggies and fruits.

I don't buy chickweed It is all in the garden and yard. I pick, wash and feed. It grows wild here.......

I don't think you can buy chickweed....... IT is just a wild weed that grows....

I grow chickweed in my kitchen window. They flower and drop tiny seeds, if anyone is looking to start their own indoor chickweed garden, let me know.

That's a great idea Jordon! I'll have to steal another plant from my next door neighbour and try to grow it on the window sil. Do these plants like a LOT of water?

I have looked around here and we just don't have any...darn!

We have lots of Creeping Charlie..but I don't know if that is bird safe or not.

I know exactly what you mean, Deborah! I too cannot find any on my property - hence why I had to snatch a piece from my neighbour!
