I was wondering which off-the-shelf dried herbs do you guys offer to your birds, especially Gouldians ?

My herb-salad has run out and I don't wanna order another one, until I make a bulk order of other birdie stuff too, so I was wondering how to feed the birds some dried herbs using the stuff available in Walmart.

They have stuff like Dried Chives, dil weed, thyme, rosemary, basil, oregano, parsley, cilantro, sage.

Which ones are good and are there herbs that would be unhealthy for the gouldians ?

Good question. I suppose you could find/read the ingredients of Herb Salad and see if those are any available to you 'off the shelf' at Wal-Mart.

I got out my bag of herb salad, and most of the ingredients would not be available at a place like Wal-mart, but maybe at a health food store. They are dandelion, oatstraw, plantain, red clover, milk thistle, echinacea, pau o'argo, elderberry, yarrow, olive leaf, thyme leaf, lavender, wheatgrass, garlic, spirulina, astragalus, barberry, chickweed, kelp, licorice, wormwood, and marshmallow. I think many of the dried herbs that we may use in cooking would be OK, but in moderation.

I use a lot of fresh herbs when cooking and give some to the birds sometimes. I think fresh would be a bit more nutritious then the dry, although more expensive I guess. Mainly basil, parsley, fresh mint. All these herbs we grow in my garden so I save a lot of money in the summer at least on veggies, lol!
