I'm looking for a quality finch seed mix, canary seed, and pellet to mix together but I can't seem to find any good prices on these. Do you guys know of any websites that have some good deals?
Also, if you guys could tell me what you feed your finches on a regular basis that would be a great help. I'm kind of at a loss as to what to feed them since there are so many different things. I want to compile a simple feeding schedule that is consistent (i.e. eggfood every monday, vegetables every other day, etc.)

Unless you plan on purchasing in large quantities, you get what you pay for. I don't like the idea of buying off the shelf from the pet store chains because who really knows how old it is and I don't like all the extra fillers they add. It's more expensive, but I buy food via the internet.

I agree with Jordan, it is hard to know how long finch seed sits on the shelf in some of the pet or feed stores. In my area, seed for species other than finches sells much quicker, I think. With fresh seed, you get much less waste, so it isn't really as expensive as it seems when compared with a cheaper feed with lots of waste.
What kills you now is the shipping costs. The seed brokers I have used in the past are all far away from you. Ideally, if you could find a source in California, where there are lots of finches, you would do better on shipping. Sometimes you just have to order some seed and see how well your birds do with it--may take some experimentation.
If you don't get any help here, you can either contact some of the websites that are based in Cali, or you could join the NFSS, which allows you access to their forum--there are many members in Cali on there, plus a few in Nevada.
