Hello again,

Can anyone tell me if any of the ornamental grasses people grow are poisonous? My sister has a lot of orn. grass that has a big plume top and seems to have seeds in it. Would my birds' wild needs be met somewhat by letting them pick at it? I know it was never sprayed and all that bad stuff...I am trying to start a little garden for them with the dumped seed. My is an inside job tho! :) Hope it grows for them...(for me, for them) :? Thanks for any info.

Take some photo of them, generally you can farm and feed whole "Compositae" family.

I have a stream in the back of my house that has all sorts of wild grasses with huge seed heads. I get these in the Spring and through the summer months. I cut the heads and throw them in my aviaries. Most the birds love them and go nuts.
