Hello again,

Can anyone tell me if any of the ornamental grasses people grow are poisonous? My sister has a lot of orn. grass that has a big plume top and seems to have seeds in it. Would my birds' wild needs be met somewhat by letting them pick at it? I know it was never sprayed and all that bad stuff...I am trying to start a little garden for them with the dumped seed. My is an inside job tho! Hope it grows for them...(for me, for them) Thanks for any info.

Take some photo of them, generally you can farm and feed whole "Compositae" family.

I have a stream in the back of my house that has all sorts of wild grasses with huge seed heads. I get these in the Spring and through the summer months. I cut the heads and throw them in my aviaries. Most the birds love them and go nuts.
