My finches eat green peas... is this okay?

I popped some frozen peas in the microve and cooked them, mashed them up on a small plate and fed them to my finches. This was an act of desperation as they seem to ignore EVERYTHING green and leafy I offer them. To my surprise, they ate the peas. They ignore the pea "shells" and seem to eat the inside.
I've given them to the birds a few times and now i'm wondering if this is a good idea. It seems too good to be true! they're eating something green! Does anyone know of any reason they shouldn't be eating peas?

I just checked on the FIC and they say that as long as they are cooked it is ok in moderation.

My birds also love green peas. They will only eat the inside usually.

I have considered buying the big bags of frozen mixed veggies and cook it up and serve those to the finches. The only thing I was not certain of is the lima bean, is that ok for them to have? I could pick them out if they can't have it.

I don't see anything about lima beans...however it appears that castor beans and black beans are a no-no

I think I'll remove them to be on the safe side, besides I don't even like them myself!!! Thanks Janine.
