Soaked bread

One thing you can offer your birds is bread that is soaked in water. They absolutely LOVE it. I have been doing this for a long time and I will alternate sprinkling things on it that is otherwise hard to get them to eat. (feather fast, spurila, mineral mix , etc.)

Obviously your birds love it just as mine love my daily eggfood - they flock to it! I've tried the soaked bread a few times but no one touches it here. :(

What kind of bread do you use? It would be a nice addition. I will try it. :)

Donna, what do you soak it in?

I used to get fresh bread from the bakery to give my parrotlets. I used to use whole dark wheats or mutligrains.

I give them whole wheat bread and I soak it in water. I get it really soaking wet and then I pour the excess water off.

Thanks, Donna. I assumed it was whole wheat, but you know what they say about 'assuming'.

Well if I put some out in the morning, it stays until I get home from work. It is not a problem.

What if you made a hole in the wall...take a piece of bread and remove the center, put the bread in a pan, break an egg open and pour the contents into the hole, cook until egg is firm, flipping it over once...do you think that would be ok?

OR...

Take an egg and whisk it, then dip the bread in it and cook both sides, like french toast but without the milk...what could you use in the pan to make it not stick?
