Swees don't eat any living food

Hi everyone,

My Swees, don't eat livingfood anymore!
I bought them in winter, they were weak, so I let them eat tiny mealies.
They always attacked the worms, but now they don't seem interesting anymore.
I think it's strange, but maybe there's some reason for it I haven't thought of?
The only thing I can think of is that they are moulting.

Is there someone who has an explination or an idea how I can let them eat livingfood again?

Carmen -

I don't know about your birds, but none of mine will eat the same thing for more than a couple of days (if that) in a row. Maybe try a different livefood and see if they like it, then try the mealies again? My swees are funny - one cage of 4 loves the mini-mealies, and the other cage of 4 won't touch them (yet). All 8 came from the same store. Wierd!

Thanks Hilary,

Funny to hear your Swees are so different whereas they come from the same shop!
It's difficult for me to find the right livingfood. I already tried flies with curly wings, but they don't touch them.
I keep them inside and I really don't like a flie plague, so fruitflies aren't an option.

Someone an idea what I can give them other then little mealies?

Maybe try maggots, waxworms, ant pupae, crickets...
