Goodbye winter crops

Post by CandoAviary » Sun Mar 14, 2010 2:52 pm

The broccoli has been growing like mad. These plants are all free grown from dumped goldbreast seed. The seeds take off and grow like wildfire. The birds in turn eat the fresh leave, broccoli heads, even nibble on the flowers...and honey bees galore...thinking of starting a bee hive. I can relate to Pooh as I do so love fresh honey :D Hummingbirds have been around too.
The dandelions will soon get moved. I will cultivate some in pots for the aviaries. The fence in front is 6' tall, the side 8' so you can see how gangly these broccoli plants have gotten.

I sooooooooooo miss Florida! We are still having WINTER spells here - I hate winter in Georgia!

I bet the birds love that - fresh from the garden!
