Does anyone use a wild type bird feeder in their Aviary?

Yes, I use 2. Both are sort of "lantern style", which are pretty much a cylinder with a tray on the bottom where the seed flows into. I had a tube feeder once but the birds didn't really use it and never sat on these little perches in front of the holes.
One thing though I did just recently: I attached wider plastic trays (plant saucers) underneath the feeders to catch the spilled seed. I should have done that a long time ago, it works great and I am not wasting seed anymore that falls to the floor. Since the finch and budgie seed is so much smaller than wild bird seed - and since especially my budgies are pigs when they are eating

- the seed runs out easier from the holes, and they throw out a lot of it.
