Best food for young birds

My little over 3 week old birds are starting to pick at the food they can find in the cage, they still mostly beg their parents but are getting more curious about eating on their own. They seem to really like the salad and eggfood.
I was wondering what kind of food would be easiest for them to eat while they are getting the hang of this, I have heard of 'soaked seed' but don't know how to make it.
Thank you

Millet spray is excellent to young birds learning to eat on their own. This also can be 'soaked' overnight and then rinsed and placed in the cage/aviary.

When you soak seeds,
- I take 1/2 teaspoon of seeds and put it into a cup (adjust based on how much they eat)
- First make sure that there are NO pellets mixed in with the seeds.
- Rinse the seeds in water and drain.
- Put water in the cup to cover the seeds. I put 1cm over the level of the seeds.
- Let soak for min of 8 hours
- Drain and rinse the seeds.
- Put the seeds in a flat bowl for the birds to eat.
BTW this is the best time to let them learn how to eat different foods. This is when I introduce pellet food to them, as it is VERY hard to convert them once they get set on eating only seeds.

Thank you very much ac12!
Btw, when the seeds are soaking do you put something over to cover the cup or just let it stand open?

I put it in a covered bottle.
Only because I have a bad habbit of knocking things over.
