Is this a Molt?

Post by Mynard » Fri May 06, 2011 4:18 pm

Im wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a molt or something worse? Storm is still active and eating, not puffy or anything like that and has not been to the bottom of the cage (all of which im hoping are good signs) but im stressing because i dont know if this is how Javas look when they molt :( Luna is next to her and appears fine...
any help would be appreciated

I see some pin feathers coming in so I would say it's a molt. Usually they don't have bald spots during a molt but it's not impossible especially if they were stressed during a move or change.
You should see the bald spots disappear over time.
nice looking java!
best of luck

Extra protein by way of eggfood is the best and a little extra heat can't hurt!
Your doing everything right :D =D>
