infection

Post by awranic » Mon Aug 21, 2006 12:43 pm

HI all,
I had a female finch who had a bad infection right near her tail feathers. Treated her with antibiotics and she is doing fine now. Does anyone know what could have caused the infection and what I could do to prevent it. Angela

a birds preen/oil gland is near the bas of the tail so it could well have been imacted or infected.say by a bird having carried faeces across to the site while preening
