Vitamin D drops?

Post by hilljack13 » Sun Jan 27, 2008 6:18 pm

Has anyone used any vitamin drops, specifically vitamin D? I had read that this vitamin is blocked out of light that comes through windows and can lead to weak bones. I used some for a few weeks but I have never had any problems with young birds growing up and having weak bones.

I don't use plain vitamin D drops... I don't think it would hurt them though.

Another possibility is just providing full spectrum lighting..

If you are using any vitamin supplements, check the label--most of them now contain vitamin D3, so you wouldn't have to do additional.

The D3 is what I was refering to in my original post. I got it at the pet store. I think it Kaytee, but a known brand.
