owww please help

Post by finchboiuk » Wed Sep 14, 2011 4:35 pm

i have a white fife that i found today on the floor of the aviary it was like half asleep and did not really try to get away well i put it in a cage inside but i had to go to work when i got home i watched him and he has been sneezing with no discharge and is all fluffed up also he is missing some feather around his neck. he did not touch his food and water so i just gave him a heat lamp and he started eating seeds and some apple and dandelion flowers and seems abit more active however what could be wrong with him (last night there was high winds and rain with temps around 15C he did not go in the shed at night so could he have a cold?

I don't know if they can catch a cold but getting him in a cage with heat is definitely going to help him fight what ever it is he has...Good luck, I hope someone can help and you bird gets better....Fingers crossed!

He probably got a chill, since he is still young I would keep him indoors for a bit, lots of warmth and nurishing foods...let him get stronger and keep an eye on him. He may not have gotten the knack of following the rest of the flock into a warmer area and got confused in the storm.
