"Bird Medication" Purchase Website
Hello!
After reading this health forum for a while, I'm pretty sure that I should have some medications on hand for emergency situations as I'm pretty sure that I can't buy any of these locally.

Problem is that there are so many. Has anyone bought from this co and if so, what's a better product for finches?

Re: "Bird Medication" Purchase Website
I have bought from allbirdproducts, avianwebsupply, amazon.com, petmeds, ladygouldian and others. Vetafarm is another site. To me, after a year plus of raising finches and having gone through several different problems, I now keep on hand the following meds/supplements/preventatives: Cocci Care, Amoxitex, Ronivet 12 %, Calcium Plus, Herb Salad, Vitalize or Thrive, Metrodonizadole, Cipro, and Quick Gel. I also have Probiotic to follow any medication treatments to restore gut flora. I give Feather Fast during molting/breeding times to encourage healthy feather growth. I hope this helps.

Thanks. With 55 products listed on only one page, with indications of treating the same or similar things. It's hard to know what is the better product and what is really needed.

I was confused in the beginning too. Now, I have narrowed my meds and supplements down to ones I mentioned. Since I treated the sick finches at the beginning of the summer, all are healthy and I have not needed to use the Amoxitex, Cipro, Quick Gel, or Metrodonizadole lately. I keep them on hand because when finches get sick, they go down hill quickly and most people do not have time to ship meds in time to save the finches. I didn't mention it, but I also have four different red heat lamps, in case one burns out, for when they are sick.

That website has a lot of stuff, but the descriptions sometimes not very informative. You can find out what to get on this forum (as above), then shop around. In addition to allbirdproducts, I also buy from several of the lady gouldian shops. Usually I go where I can also get some seeds or other supply and make the most of the combined shipping cost.

www.ladygouldian.com offers a discount when you purchase 3 (15%) or 4 or more (20%) medicatioms at the same time. She is on vacation this week, but she ships out very quickly.
