Woahh, what is going on ??

I just noticed that my male society has something strange going on on his beak. Its like ... its peeling a little ? You know like human nails do sometimes when they are weak, they kind of peel in layers. His beak looks like it has a top layer that is a little cracked ...
Its hard to explain since i have a hard time taking pictures of him, he moves so fast

is looks something like this, but not as bad as that!

What is this - is it normal or something to be worried about ?
This is something new - because when i got him about a month ago, his beak was looking fine!

I don't know why that happens, except maybe a dietary deficiency or an injury to the beak, but my Spice finch had something similar, but not as bad. I put Quick Gel on the beak and the next day, the beak was normal again. Maybe that will help.

Oh i see! I thought that it was something that happened because the bird is getting older (he is only 4 months old), like human skin peels off throughout the years. I've only had these birds for a month or so and i dont really know how they where cared for by their previous owner, so maybe its a vitamin deficiency. I will try to get some good vitamins for him.

I dont really dare to grab him yet he is the scared one, so i'll try the vitamins first

both birds have a great appetite and are healthy overall
