I watch my two societies poop pretty closely and it has been the same since I purchased them about 2 weeks ago. Today I fed them finely mashed egg and finely mashed egg shell (minus the membrane) for the first time. I also thoroughly cleaned their cage. It's been a couple hours since I did both of these but I just noticed one green poop in the cage. I tried to search "green poop" on the site but got a plethora of hits - the ones mentioning liver disease have me spooked. Could the eggs or stress have caused this? Or do I need to be worried about something else?
Last night I ordered a large order of just about every medication recommended by others on this site just to have on hand in case of emergency but there's no way they've even processed it yet
Because I don't know which bird did the pooping I've gone ahead and put a heat lamp on the cage just in case.
Is there anything else I should do?
Thanks

First of all, don't panic. It is very easy reading all these posts about all these problems to start thinking that your birds are also sick. But most of us have healthy birds without problems, you just hear more about the sick ones sometimes.
Just adding a new food like eggfood can change their poop color. If you start giving them veggies, that can change poop color too. I wouldn't even bother with heat at this point, just sit back and keep an eye on them. Only if you notice more unusual poops would I even think about doing anything. As I said before, the great majority of our birds are perfectly healthy, so relax and enjoy them.

Thank you Sally! I will check first thing in the morning and watch them tomorrow to see how things go.

I am no expert - but i don't think green poop is anything to worry about
i've seen it happen when my societies have eaten veggies!
I dont think you should worry if the birds are active and eating and drinking as usual

I recommend lining the tray of your cage with white paper towels, this way you can get an idea of the exact color of the droppings.

Re: Panicking a little because of poop color change.
I've monitored the girls all day (and peeked in multiple times last night because I couldn't sleep) and they seem to be absolutely fine. Poop looks normal, they are eating fine and full of energy. They've actually started bathing! Last night was the first bath for both of them. Sorry for the panicked post - I lost my first two suddenly so I've been watching these girls pretty closely. Thanks for all the help.
