Yes I did, but I doubt he would sell me just one bird!?!?
Also, I'm not losing $100 bucks, they owe me a bird!
I can wait till they get some more.

Very true. It was just a suggestion in case you wanted another pair. I agree to wait as well.

I'm so sorry you loss your male RCCB, thank god they gave you the credit at least now you can get another one. Hopefully they bring you one soon.

Thanks Rancel!

Sometimes I wonder about finches?
Should I keep them?
Canaries are much easier and don't die!
I only lost one canary in 30 years!

So sorry you lost your male RCCB, Jerry. I question whether the temperature is what killed him. You said that the temperature got down to 60 degrees, but CBs should be able to handle that. They aren't supposed to be kept below 50. I had unplugged the heater in my outside back room the other night, and forgot to plug it back in. Don't know for sure how cold it got in there, but it was definitely chilly. All the birds did just fine. I would think the stress of moving to a new home would do more harm than a drop to 60 degrees, and he may not have been well to begin with.

I agree with Sally in that I don't think 60 degree temp would kill an otherwise healthy finch.

Then he was great at hiding what was wrong with him!
He was singing, dancing and carrying pieces of nesting
material the day before!
He was also very protective of the nest they picked out and would chase everyone away that came near!

Thats why I said before, these little birds drive me crazy at times !
A complete mystery and paradox!
One day fine and the next day dead!

Canaries at least, get sick and you get a chance to give some meds and 90% come back fine.
I said I lost one canary in 30 years, it's actually two!
One got sick and just would not pull through and one hen from egg binding.

Jerry
