Heat and Humidity. If she's in a hospital cage, place it in the bathroom with the shower running on hot water, door closed. Then, turn off the water and let the steam/humidity stay in the bathroom with her and the cage. That will help her body relax to pass the egg.

As I'm sure you know much better than me - keep a close eye on her. I just lost one of my societies, Loudy, this week due to egg binding. She looked a little puffy one evening and was gone the next day! (I had her under a heat lamp just in case) I was shocked. When I removed her from the cage I could feel an egg but I guess she just couldn't pass it. I just had no idea it could happen so quickly!
Sending prayers for your little girl.

Good idea but do not let her get chilled and damp especially since the temps are low in the house. Get heat on her asap. Another alternative to the shower steam is cover the sides and part of the top with a damp towel and keep the heat lamp on her, it to adds humidity with out getting the bird damp.finchmix22 wrote:Heat and Humidity. Re: What might be wrong? Am I paranoid?
Thanks for the suggestions. She made it thought the night again.
She looks pretty much 100% normal today, but has not passed an egg. Little to no fluffing, very active, eating well, seems anxious to get back to her cage mates. I put some warm wet towels up over part of the top and sides.
If it was egg binding, could she have made it this long, without passing an egg?

She would pass the egg within a day, usually. Maybe something else is going on? Keep watching her to make sure you don't miss something.

Re: What might be wrong? Am I paranoid?
I forgot to post that my hen is doing fine. I kept her in a hospital cage for a few days, with a heat lamp and some wet towels on two sides and monitored her very closely. My fiancé even set her up in front of his computer, so she was in line with the built-in webcam, and set up a ustream feed sp I could check her while I was at work. She never passed an egg, but seemed to be much improved, so after a few days on her own, we put her back into the flight with the others. She seemed very happy indeed to be back with her cage mates and is doing fine!
Whatever it was, the heat must have helped her kick it! Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help!
