I am looking at the various supplements and medicine available for birds and getting confused.
What would you recommend I have on hand (pre-supposing I can't get things locally)?
So far my society finches are very healthy but I just got 2 more and would like to be prepared.
Thanks,
Naomi

Hi Naomi,
There are a few things I think you should always have on hand for your birds.
Blood stop Powder - in case you clip the nail to short when trimming
Vitamin supplement - there are a number of them avaiable. Some are designed to be administered in water and others in a softfood.
Sick Bird Supplement - again, a number of products available to keep on hand if a bird is showing classic "sick bird symptoms" (fluffed, sleeping alot, lethargic, etc). I prefer Guardian Angel by Birdcare Company, but there are other available as well. Finding something locally might be the challenge.
Calcium supplement - especially if you have breeding birds.
Broad Spectrum Antiboitic - I use Amtyl - again, you might have a hard time finding something locally in your area.
I am sure others will post their choices as well.
