Crop.. infection??

Post by DanteD716 » Tue Apr 24, 2012 10:15 pm

When I did a nest check earlier, my chicks crops looked strange. They have food all over the place, the crop extends under their throats?? They look deformed?? Is this normal? Only my second clutch.

I'm having trouble visualizing it. Are the crops all misshapen? Or just larger than normal? Could the parents be overstuffing? How old are these babies?

One hatched the 16th, one the 17th. I can try getting a picture tommorow. No overstuffed, but instead of being off to the sides of the neck like my last chick, it extends to under there neck just wierd shapen, one chick always has food in one side, stuffed, so he leans to that side, the other side not so filled. They just look wierd to me. :?

I don't get to see most of my babies, since I don't do nest checks, so I can't really help you with this. Just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Thank you, ever since the first check when they were younger they have been odd to me, maybe it is just a zebra chick thing.
