Lethargic fledgling

Post by minori » Sun May 06, 2012 10:13 pm

This little guy has been sleeping most of the day under the heat lamp. I've noticed that he is constantly begging his momma for food all day and doesn't really try to eat on his own that I've noticed. The hen does still feed him, so I'm wondering if maybe just the toll of his feathers growing back is making him tired?

Aww gee
The little guy has been really plucked.
Is the plucker dad, mom or one of his siblings?

Dad is the guilty party, this little guy is about 5 days younger than the rest so he didn't fledge at the same time. Dad was ready to nest again so he'd go in the nest and pluck the poor little guy, which is why he got removed.

Poor thing :( He's probably just a little behind but will do fine.
Best of luck

Just a little update, he's doing great now. He's in a separate cage with a brother and sister.

Here he is, the one with the blue leg band.
