Usually when they are puffed up, they are not feeling well.

If you have a heat lamp, I would set it up for her.

How long has she been this way? Is she eating and drinking normally?

I agree heat is a must!!

Could you answer a few questions

Is she in with other birds?

Has she been laying eggs?

How old is she?

Lisa asked if she is eating and drinking normally...this is important, if not enough or more than usual?

Is she molting?

What other symptoms is she showing?

Zebra, Gouldians, Java, CBM Shaft tail & Grasskeets

She's young. I keep in touch with her and I saw her eat and drink sometimes. I already set-up a night light lamp. But, I notice she's open the mouth frecuently, not often like eating or drinking I saw a different behavior. What can I do?

Today's Report:

During the morning and the afternoon I saw her eating and drinking very good.

But, tonight she looks hesitate, I turns off the lights and she was breathing fast???

Can you tell us where you are located? That way we may be able to help you locate medications for her.

By heat lamp we mean something like a 40 watt incandecent bulb in a lamp fixture right next to the cage, and a perch. This provides enough heat that they can warm up as they need to. Also they can move farther away from the lamp if it is too warm.

And since she is not well, keep the light on 24x7. In other words, do NOT turn the light off. She needs the heat constantly. They can still sleep with the lamp on.

I am wondering if this young hen may be eggbound?
