I had a feeling they were toxic to birds. I don't use them and have always been leery about them. Glad I trusted my senses!

I once used them, but when I learned how bad they are, I no longer use them.

Absolutely not! Very toxic stuff. I'm not sure why pet supply companies continue to produce them other than they are selling to an uninformed public.
If you are looking to prevent mites and other pests try using Pestex by morning bird.

I am so glad you posted this. I had one of these things on my cage. Actually there was one on it when I brought it home from the previous owners.
It now has a new home in the garbage. Thank you for sharing this information.
