There is no value in a hung bird with correct toes. Obviously, he likes himself just the way he is.

Hi All.

Still getting nowhere with Tiny Tim's toe. He is however managing to perch, and the leg that was going to the one side too much, seems to have more or less corrected itself. He is now Mr independent himself, and will not accept feedings even when Luciano, tries to poke some food down his beak.

As to little Pokey, well that's a different story. He knows how to feed himself, eventhough he's a very messy eater (always getting half chewed seeds all over his beak and face). That said, he's still begging at every opportunity, from everyone, including Tiny Tim (who just raises a birdly eye brow at him and flits away). He's chasing Siena (who Is not his mother) the Gouldians, the Parrots...... Even caught him trying to beg from CT, my Cut Throat, and boy was he barking up the wrong tree there. CT, rose to his full height, started singing and hopping and bouncing up and down. Pokey, took one look at that display  and left in a hurry, looking rather :-SS .
I doubt he'll try that again :-).

So not to be rude or anything Elana, but I love the fact that your canaries are "special" I think it's great. It gives them personalities!! And you may not be a fan of tame birds, but looks like with Pokey you don't have a choice....you might just have yourself a new special friend!!! I think they are ADORABLE!!! I love the little tupee's!!! I just wanna pinch their little cheeks!!! I am sorry you had such a hard time with them, and they wouldn't do what you wanted them to, but you are an excellent care giver, and I have a feeling that they will both turn out JUST fine! As for "special" babies (birds) can't wait to show you the pics of my new babies a week from Sunday I'm getting them (actually this Sunday, the 12th) I'm so excited... Anyway, I know I didn't really post anything to help your situation, but i'm thinking of you and your birdlings, and wishing nothing but the best, but again, honestly? I don't think your spoiled rotten brats, i mean birds need well wishes...as you are fabulous finch mom, and Grand Mum!!!
