Thanks Cindy. It was just odd to see that, and I'm overly suspicious at times.

I think it is a good thing to look into. If I were you, I would try and get the product that is sealed.

Just catching up on posts, so it's a bit delayed, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your little bird. I'm so sorry. I too was hopeful that he'd recover.

Another comment on necropsies and cost.....
Do you live anywhere near a veterinary school?
If so, you can inquire there about necropsies. Tufts veterinary school would do some for free; others for $50. (Cats, dogs, birds were $50; wild animals were free through Tufts wildlife clinic. That's where I took some of my deceased animals while doing wildlife rehab work.)

I was hesitant at first since obviously, it involves students. But necropsies are all supervised by a veterinarian/instructor (and for any more difficult-to-determine problems, I like to think that multiple minds examining a problem is better than just one mind.)
At Tufts, I know they said it was 3rd and 4th year students performing the necropsies (at least at the wildlife clinic), so fairly knowledgeable, I assume.

I never even thought about that. Thanks! The closest school that I know of is about an hour away.
