Sad Canary

Post by BBry » Sun Jun 21, 2015 1:30 pm

I think my canary is sad :( He doesn't show signs of being sick because he's active, drinking water, eating his food, and keeping himself clean. Up until last month he would sing every morning and every evening to his hearts content but recently we haven't heard a peep from him. Any ideas what might be wrong with him? Could it be he is sad because it's breeding season? I just want my little boy to be happy and singing again.

Could he be molting??? Canaries...in general...are not nearly as social as finches. So my guess would be a molt.

Now that you mention it I think the same thing happened last year. There was a time where he stopped singing for a bit but a few weeks later he was singing like crazy again so maybe he is going through a molting. Thanks for the suggestion :D
