Do you have these birds housed together in one flight? I had a Gouldian hen that had similar feet issues. She was with other birds but she was the only one that had these issues. She is fed the same diet as all others with her, looked and acted healthy, but looking back, this happened right before she started to molt. I don't know if the immune system is compromised making her more susceptible?? But it took a while to get rid of this stuff!!! Your birds being older could also be more susceptible. I treated her for mites using S76 and Scatt. You can go to LadyGouldian.com site and there is a lot of info there.
It is difficult to get rid of and it is contagious. So be sure to separate them and if they were with other birds, you need to treat them ALL along with the cage and perches. You can treat the beak of your Zebra also and you will find info at the same site about this.
After several treatments I resorted to my Louisiana "heritage" for additional help.....we use Vicks Vapor Rub for EVERYTHING....

I rubbed some on her feet every night and ..... no more mites...was it the Scatt/S76 that worked??? The combination???
Do NOT use Vicks on your Zebs beak. It works great for my sinus allergies but your poor Zeb won't be able to breath from the "vapor"!!! Don't know if you will find Vicks in Europe so you can substitute Vaseline to "suffocate" the mites.
Good luck and let us know how it works out!
