I just got a message from someone regarding this issue..they agree that you need to check on the bark when using it on young birds but did suggest organic ACV

Zebra, Gouldians, Java, CBM Shaft tail & Grasskeets

cindy & Babs

*-:) *-:) *-:)

I thought the unpasteurized organic ACV, might be helpful.
That being the brown disgusting looking stuff.

Babs, make sure you shake the bottle really well, because all the good stuff settles in the bottom.

Something tickles my brain, that it's one drop per one ounce of water, but I could be wrong. I imagine, that you don't want it too strong, especially because of the babies.

the dilution is 1 to 2 tbsp (2 tbsp for sick birds with yeast) per gallon... 2tbsp if your birds are not use to it may be to strong, start a tbsp...most mine accept it as strong as 1 1/2 tbsp. Use the Bragg's brand, Heinz is to cloudy and the water in the tubes turn very cloudy quickly.

Sorry about the delay getting back. Work was busy today.

I am happy to say, either this stuff really works.....or the birds got through the mold okay.

Droppings normal. Everyone (including babies) looks like nothing happened. Thank goodness, cause I barely slept last night, thinking I was gonna wake up to 9 puffed up finches and 4 dead babies.

Im going to continue for 2 more day, I think by then they should be out of the woods.

Hey Girl,

I was wondering what was going on with you and yours. I was starting to think I'd have to get a hold of Bubba, and send him over to investigate.

Very happy to hear that all is well with the feathered crew. That's definitely a relief.

So when you say 'stuff', are we talking the tree bark, or the ACV and I mean ACV, not ATV (make sure Bubba doesn't come roaring over to give your finches a ride ;-).

Did you read about Mia's three babies, just dropping dead within minutes of each other?

You did nothing honey. I didnt trust the female on that second pair, and, alas I was right about her.

Hence her name "Brat" Shes a real whip-cracker.

Okay here goes, another thread on "As the Gouldian World Turns". *snort!
