Regurtitating Seeds. What is the cause?
Hi everyone. I'm in need of some advice. I currently have 6 male Gouldians and one Bourke's Parakeet. My Gouldian finches are regurgitating seeds. Overall they seem healthy. Occasionally they (Gouldians and Bourke's) will have watery droppings. A couple of the Gouldians close their eyes even when they're not sleeping. This has been going on for almost a year now. No other symptoms. They are active, eat, and drink fine. A year ago I had a finch that was regurgitating seeds and eventually she died. I'm thinking they have some sort of bug but are strong enough to fight it off for now. Thanks in advance for the help!

Yes I know I misspelled regurgitate in the subject...
Don't know how to fix it.

There is all sorts of Information out there, but the bottom line is, that neither you nor I, nor any member on this Forum, have the training to diagnose the particular disorder that is causing this problem in your bird.
I would strongly recommend, contacting an Avian Veterinarian , as this could be a serious, possibly life threatening situation.
Good luck.

Thanks for the response. Vet is not an option right now especially since the only symptoms are occasional regurgitation (not every day) and occasional watery droppings. All of them are active, vocal, and don't act like your typical "sick" bird. Thought someone would have more to add. Thanks again.

I would consult an avian vet and ask them to run tests perhaps one for AGY (Avian Gastric Yeast/Megabacteria).
