Tiffany Sally Cindy

I am a beginner finch keeper. I did not realize that quarantine included dosing the birds with medications. Could someone put a thread in health or somewhere regarding the appropriate care for introducing new birds? or maybe it's already been done?

Do you routinely treat your birds? When is this necessary and why? Does it make a difference depending on how many you have? I currently have 9.
Also what are the signs and symptoms of this infection when it is active?

I really appreciated reading this thread. Tiffany you are very clear in your explanations. Thank you so much. When i clicked for the link to your paper I did not get it though.

I thought the same thing about the GRI inhibitors glad that question was asked and answered.

I LOVE learning about birds!

this is the site we recommend on our group, my avian vet has also looked at this and was fine with it...the only thing that she recommended is to add a 3rd dose of topical scatt or topical ivermectin 1% 14 days after the second dose.
