Gouldian Beak

Post by Animalzoo » Thu May 12, 2016 7:33 pm

I have an adult male gouldian. His lower beak is very slightly longer on the bottom? Is it something to consider trimming

We're not talking much longer, only 1 millimeter or so.

I can trim nails, no problem, but a beak on a small finch I'd be very cautious about doing.

Completely separate to this query he has been poorly too, fluffed up and sleeping a lot so I currently have him in a hospital cage on top of a heat mat. Just in case I've been adding treatment for parasites in his water and he is eating and his poops look fine. After 3 days he has perked up and isn't acting like he did in the community cage. I'm thinking he my have just needed a time out with some warmth.

Could his beak be a issue for him to be able to eat or be getting him down?
