you need to pick the baby up and examine the lower belly, look for puffy, loopy intestines, yellow or white under the skin...several things can cause difficulty breathing..trichomonas, internal parasites (not mites), yeast, fungals, coccidia. bacteria and parasites can get into the organs linings, taking nutrition from the bird. If unsure of what you are looking at in the belly pm me a picture..wet the feathers and expose everything from the vent to the ribs to the side ans far over as you can get. Add a heat lamp to the cage also. If this is an GI issue you need to give seed, millet and dry egg food more than soft foods.
