Ronex question

Post by a_gouldian » Sun Aug 28, 2016 4:32 pm

Can Ronex be given in the evening if that is when we usually change all the waters or is it more effective if given in the morning. We plan on giving it to all the birds starting tonight or tomorrow morning for 5-7 days. Does the potency fade once it is in the water dish at room temp?

Hi there, I noticed you mentioned that you normally change the water of an evening,

Out of interest do you give fresh clean water in a dish / bowl or in tubular drinkers,

The reason why I ask is that with a lot of birds if water is given in a bowl in the evening and just a short while before the birds go to roost they sometimes have a tendency to wanna bath because the water is now fresh and clean,

This is something that I personally would never do as if the birds did bath they'd be going to roost still wet or at the very least damp which is not good and give the birds a chill,

This is why I'd personally never ever give fresh water in the evening,

However if the water is only for tubular drinkers then there isn't really any problem and the use of Ronex in the drinkers in the evening should be ok but I'd definitely change again the following evening

We do not use tubular drinkers. The birds usually do not take baths in the evening. It's usually in the afternoon and not all of them take baths. I have never seen one of our birds take a bath in the evening. We change the waters at least once a day and it usually is in the morning but this summer it has tended to be in the evening. Some of them dirty the water faster so they may get a change twice a day.

Ronex needs to be changed out every 24 hours... I change all my drinkers in the evening. If you change your water after dinner it will be fine... or you can change the water in the morning... no veggies or other source of water in the cage.

Extra Ronex mixture needs to be kept in the fridge. Potency does not decrease

Thanks Cindy. Exactly what we needed to know.
